Your Kingscote Barn Wedding Photography

Planning your big day at the beautiful Kingscote Barn?

Great choice! It’s one of my absolute favourite venues and it’s also kind of my second home, I have now photographed in excess of 90 weddings there! I am honoured to be one of few Kingscote Barn recommended photographers. I live very close to the barn, so I am very fortunate that this is on the doorstep and is such a busy one for me- it’s a venue I could never tire of! The staff, the barn itself and its surroundings are unbeatable!

Kingscote Barn is one of those venues that lends itself to any season - you can have the cosy, intimate winter wedding or the outdoor option, enjoying that epic scenery and summer evening fun on the lawns!

So, with all this in mind and hundreds of thousands of images taken - I wanted to summarise in one blog post and share just a few of my favourites as a little Kingscote Barn collection with some ideas along the way.

If I can be of any help with photographing your Kingscote Barn wedding day, do pop me a message here and I look forward to chatting with you! If I am already booked on your date, I will always ask others and send you a list of photographers who are free for you - just to help out and ease the pressure too.

I hope you enjoy looking through these and it gives you some more ideas and inspiration. Most of all, I hope it gives you all the feels and get’s you giddy with excitement - roll on your big day!!

* * *

I will always get shots of the barn on the day of your wedding -rain or shine, its a great record of your day! Before I go to visit the bride on the morning, I pop round and see how the suppliers / boys are getting on doing the set up and get any little detail shots that I can, then.

And then onto the bridal preps - a great mixture of hair and make up prep shots, the dress, the shoes and all the fun going on in the morning! If the boys are getting ready nearby I will always pop to see them too and say hello, get some shots of the buttonholes going in (usually once I have showed them how to do it) A good tip for the day too - Buttonholes on the men go on the left hand side.. because us women are ALWAYS right) Like what I did there? :)

And then onto the big reveal! I have to admit, this is one of my absolute favourite moments of the day - I tear up most of the time. It’s hard not to.. I always feel so privileged to be a witness to this special time whoever you choose to share that first look with.

This is my time now to pop over to get the guests arriving shots and the boys all waiting anxiously! Leading straight on to the ceremony where the vows are said and the rings are exchanged!

“I now pronounce you Mr & Mrs” Confetti / Bubbles / Epic cheers from all, time!

Let the celebrations commence!
This is my opportunity to get all the natural shots of you and your guests. I adore this bit too - it’s great to see who the characters are and I love the anticipation of what’s to come! Being a photographer ninja comes into play here :)

Once you have done some hellos and sipped that champagne,, we will crack on with the formals. With all the planning done before the day, this is a very painless and easy part of the day (despite its bad rep!) This part only needs to take about 20 minutes.. The backdrop at the barn is so stunning - just look at these!

and then onto the best bit! Your photos just the two of you!
Kingscote have so many great little spots for a wander - you can chat, be yourselves and allow me to get those beautiful newly wed shots!

By this point, the barn will be pretty much ready to go! So this is my change to nip in before your guests, to get the set up shots, all the details and full room shots. Plus check out the delicious cake you have planned :)

Reason 109487 that I love this place - they always invite you to pop in and have those 5 minutes in the room ahead of your guests coming in. It makes a lovely photo opportunity for me and best of all, you get to take it all in - just the two of you! If you want here, this is a great time to get a quick photo up on the balcony too!

And the announcement of the new Mr & Mrs… Woop!!

Leading into the speeches and the wedding breakfast.. It’s up to you which way round you do this - either way, I shall make sure I get all the good stuff!

Once the formalities are over, it’s then into teas & coffees, a bit more mingling and straight into the evening where you pull some shapes with your loved ones!

I hope this has given you a great insight into some of the shots you can expect from your Kingscote Barn wedding! If you do need any more help, advice or inspiration, do not hesitate to contact me!
I am now booking 2021 and 2022 dates - I would love to hear from you about your plans so far!

Thanks so much for reading this - Courtney x
